It is always great to welcome some people back! I will take the entire pleasure in welcoming Shri Chulbul Pandey back to the silver screen on the Doom’s Day. Ok, this ones only for the box office. Salman Khan is back on the screen this time with Dabangg 2. This second installment of Bhai’s franchise Dabanng directed by Arbaaz Khan himself is much better to the previous version with a more racy narration, better direction and of course better portrayal of Salman Khan. Saying so, this is only for the front galleries of the auditorioum and strictly made for the audience who are ready to act foolish to get entertained. Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) is a fearless cop in Kanpur. Thakur Bachcha (Prakash Raj) is a criminal turned politician who along with his brothers creates a racket in the city. Chulbul and Thakur clash in a battle of words and weapons. Salman Khan picks it up from where he has left it in Ek Tha Tiger. He does a spectacular performance with comic stunts, pelvic thrusts, sharp dialogues and some masala laced acting to the pleasure of the crowds. Other than Salman Khan and masala, there isn’t much to speak about Dabangg 2. It has some old fashioned writing and worn out direction from Arbaaz Khan aided by an average soundtrack from the duo of Sajid Wajid. The features of Dabangg franchise continue with Rajjo, Sonakshi Sinha this time doing it more robustly and Arbaaz Khan, holding the gaps. Opposing Chubul is Thakur played by Prakash Raj who gives an effortless performance with strong impressions borrowed from his years as a stereotype South Indian villain. And now, if Dabangg had one  item song, Dabangg 2 has two item songs. One by Malaika and the other by Kareena Kapoor. Kareena does her part by shedding clothes well and a generous display of cleavage and midriff. Ok, this again for the frontbenchers.Wondering if there is any Dabangg 3 in future and it will have 3 item songs!! The spotlight here is on Salman who single handedly carries the movie on the shoulders. He romances with Rajjo, jokes with his side cops fighs with Thakur and dances to tunes! Multi-talented! I am in awe of him for his magnetic on screen cherishma the way he pulls off films without any meaty plot or narration. Honestly speaking, what works in the favor of this movie is masala – fights, dialogues, dances, punches et al…. this can compensate for the evident pitfalls the movie has. Much effort has not gone into this movie other than shooting the scenes. Just above 2 hours, the movie is racy and masala entertainer and has neatly placed scenes from the Gabbar Singh (Telugu version of Dabanng ). Well, movies like Dabangg 2 and a lot more other movies made earlier this year are a blatant example of degrading sensibilities of cinema goers in single screens and unwillingess to change to neo-cinema. If you need masala and mindless entertainment, the destination for you is a cinema playing Dabangg 2. Strictly made for masala film lovers and Salman fans, Dabanng 2 is a harebrained entertainer from the franchisee of Salman Khan. Dabanng 2 adds itself to the long growing list of masala genre movies of Bollywood. If you are a lover of real cinema, stay away from this one for there is nothing remotely interesting about this one. Don’t get surprise if this will rewrite all the box office records. But thats the new order of Bollywood cinema!

Box Office: This one’s gonna rock the box office. It will take astronomic openings and set the cash registers ringing. This will surely rewrite the records at box office and set new scales in terms of records.
